Abstract
A convection heater has a housing (1) with the heater (3) along its base and with a horizontal regulating flap (4) above the heater. A spiral bimetal thermostatic control strip (5) mounted on the end of the flap is housed in a chamber (6) incorporated in one end of the housing. Entry to this chamber is controlled by a blade (10) whose position is determined by another thermostatic control (11). When ambient air temperature is low, the blade allows only cold air to enter the chamber and pass the spiral strip so that the flap opens for maximum heating effect. When the room has become warm, the blade closes the fresh air entry (9) and allows warm air from the heater to pass the spiral strip and after the flap to reduce hot air circulation.
