Abstract

The roof is to be of right-angled serrated 'shed' section, with alternating long concrete slabs and shorter north-facing window sections. The reinforced or prestressed concrete slab construction element has a smooth under-layer, from the centre of which a supporting rib projects downwards at right angles. This enables casting to be effected in a form fixed on a bench, automatically giving the correct slope and permitting the required formation of window spacing. Upward and downward ribs at south and north ends respectively can provide channels for guttering, and ridge coping. Cross-section is pref. constant, with variation in the length of individual pieces as required.
