Abstract

A mobile crane has a mechanism for blocking the suspension while the crane is in use. The wheels (4) have a beam (5) suspended between their axles (2-3), this beam supporting a leaf spring (8) with a set of connecting arms (15, 16) between the leaf spring and the chassis (1) which carries the crane. In the travelling position, these arms (15, 16) which are attached to a piston and cylinder (25) are bent outwards in a retracted position. In the position of use, these arms are pivoted by the extension of the piston so that they are then in line, and the chassis is directly supported, through them and a pivot block (18, 6) by the beam (5) without any load on the leaf spring (8).
