Abstract

1,105,508. Vehicle suspensions. AUSTIN MOTOR CO. Ltd. 24 Nov., 1966 [21 Sept., 1965], No. 40108/65. Heading B7D. At each side at one or both ends of a heavy vehicle are provided, in tandem arrangement, a pair of wheels, each individually suspended, the suspensions of the two wheels being hydraulically interconnected. Each wheel carrier 5 may be mounted on upper and lower suspension arms 3 and 4 of which the upper, 3, has an arm 7 bearing upon a ball-ended strut 8 operating an hydraulic displacer 9 or 10, the casing of which is connected to the vehicle frame. The hydraulic displacers 9 and 10 are connected to a rubber-spring hydraulic accumulator 12 as described in Specification 1,096,319, rendering the suspensions conjugate.
