Abstract

The security fitting for pressurised spray containers is designed to avoid accidental discharge by children, since two simultaneous actions of squeezing the ftting and pressing the button are necessary to operate the spray. The plastic fitting (8) consists of a circular skirt (9) with a thickened end (10) which is a force fit in the groove (11) in the cap (2). Two arms (12) project radially inwards, one each side, and fit the space between the button (5) and the shoulder (7). In the normal position, the button cannot be pushed down. Squeezing the fitting to form an ellipse pulls the arms out of the space and the button can be useD.
