Abstract

Magnesium alloy contains (wt.%) 2-12 Al, 0.01-2.5 Zn, 0.01-2.5 Mn, 0.0001-0.5 Ti, and 0.002-2.0 Zr, and 0.1 Be, 0.01 Fe, 0.001 Ni, 0.08 Si and 0.04 Cu as impurities, the balance being Mg. The alloy has high resistance to corrosion in seaside and tropical conditions, and also resists immersion in seawater. It also has good mechanical properties.
