Abstract

The clutch unit includes an annular casing which is, along its edge, fixed to a first plate, the reaction plate, and which contacts, while rotating, a second plate, the pressure plate. Another annular part, the diaphragm, has an elastic periphery forming a ring acting on the pressure plate and a central part formed by radial "fingers" separated in twos by grooves in the inner edge of the peripheral ring and acting on a moving control part. Swinging means pivotally link the diaphragm to the casing and having locking projections integrally formed on the cover and engaging in openings in the diaphragm, while acting upon a circumference of the diaphragm radically spaced from the openings.
