Abstract

A diaphragm spring clutch assembly for motor vehicles has an annular component whose edge bears against the flywheel, to be coupled to the pressure plate so as to rotate with it. The diaphragm spring acts on the pressure plate, actuated by the clutch withdrawal bearing, secured by an assembly piece passing through apertures in the spring between radial divisions, where these join the outer portion with relatively flat and thin lugs(16) attached to the housing (10). These each have a section (20) running axially, thin radially, and wide in the peripheral direction, passing through an aperture in the spring (11), together with a closing vane (21) folded in the radial direction, holding the support plate (25) against the edge (12) section of the spring. Radially the support plate is entirely outside the diameter of the axial portion (20) of the lug.
