Abstract

Motor vehicle headlamp reflector, consists of at least two interconnected parts, the rearward one cup-shaped and the forward one coaxial with it, abutting along a shoulder at 90 deg. to the axis and geometrically merging into one another on the inside. The rearward part is of material with little deformation when heated. The forward part is of a plastics of poorer thermal properties, and these parts abut each other along their respective rear or forward edges. Pref. the parts are separately cast. One of them carries the fittings for attaching the whole reflector to the vehicle. The rearward part may be of a polysulphone resin, and the forward part of "Macrolon" (RTM).
