Abstract

The support bracket on the back of the windscreen wiper blade is joined to the wiper arm by a pivot in which a plastics moulding (32) is interposed between the arm (16) and the bracket (24) to prevent rattling. The moulding is extended to form sleeves (3)4 to fit over the pivot bolt (30). The joint provides the advantages of a plastic bearing pivot with the added security that any break in the plastic section still enables the wiper blade to be held on the wiper arm by the metallic components.
