Abstract

Lift using a single rolled steel beam as a guide track uses balancing counterweights to reduce motor size and improve working. The shaft (3) has fitted in it a single beam (4) running from top to bottom at its rear and suspended from lintels (12) embedded in the wall (11). These lintels also carry the electric motor and brake (15), the reduction box (16) and the cable pulley (6) with its safety brake against overspeeding. The cabin frame (2) and cabin (1) are guided by pulleys (40, 41, 44, 45) along the beam and are joined (36, 37, 38), through another safety brake (39), by cables (5) to two separate counterweights (7) running at the rear of the beam. The cabin and counterweights both run along the beam on rollers.
