Abstract
750,361. Scaffolding cradles. DAMAGZUG GES. Nov. 19, 1953 [Nov. 21, 1952], No. 32167/53. Class 20(2). [Also in Group XXX] A working platform or cradle 10 of the kind movable vertically and horizontally on the outer walls 1 of a building is suspended from a hoisting mechanism mounted on a truck 3 which is movable along tracks 2 on the roof of the building, and which is provided with an outrigger 6 at the end of which is located a guide pulley 9. The hoisting mechanism comprises a winch 4 and a pair of cables 5 which pass over pulleys 7, 8, 9 and are anchored to a cross bar 18 which is detachably secured to the platform. A second pair of safety cables (not shown) which sustain the platform in the event of cables 5 breaking are also anchored to bar 18 and pass over pulleys 7, 8, 9 to a second drum 15, driven synchronously with drum 4, which is braked by a mechanism (not shown) when, due to cables 5 running slack, a spring-loaded arm 16 is allowed to fall. The pulley 9 is horizontally movable by a motor driven screw and nut mechanism (Fig. 3, not shown) which effects movement of the platform away from the wall or into a storage compartment having an opening in the wall. The winch and pulley driving motors are controlled from the platform by means of an electric cable 19 which is wound on and off a drum 20 as the platform is raised and lowered.
