Abstract

There is a sliding full width extension (4) of the horizontally rectangular roof frame (14, 14a, 14d, 14c): frame stability being achieved by connecting diagonal cross-ties (26) between the rod frame corners. Pref. the sliding frame incorporates a stop bar normal to its motion, two hanging braced arms (5) with stirrups located on the leading edge and utilized for attachment to the vehicle and a hanger element which attaches to the vehicle roof; this latter comprising two parallel bars. Sectionally demountable elements of the frame can be lodged between the bars during stowage. The frame is utilized with a conventionally guyed tent.
