Abstract

The oscillating mechanism (10) consists of a toothed wheel (11), motor driven. The toothed wheel (11) has in a front face (12) four blind holes (13). In one of the holes is a pin engaging in the rack rod (16), toothed at its far end (17). This engages with a pinion (18) which is connected to the wiper shaft. To keep the toothed end (17) in mesh with pinion (18) there is a guide (19). When toothed wheel (11) turns on its shaft the rod (16) reciprocates. The holes (13) are at different radii, to give any one of four different sweep angles.
