Abstract

Ribbed central heating radiators are m ade from metal sheet, assembled to a hollow body by welding together bent, deep-drawn sheet components, with a horizontal passage top and bottom and vertical, adjacent passages as hollow ribs adjoining the horizontal passages. The hollow structure of the plate is formed by two components, welded together at the upper or lower edges and vertical edges. At least one of these components is produced by repeated bending and deep drawing at spacings in the direction of the plate length, from initially flat material much longer than this length, to give straight edges with many bends and ribs of different depth; the linear expansion of the flat material bent and drawn in each horizontal section of the plate is equal. Radiators with a large heat exchange surface are produced.
