Abstract

The beam is of reinforced concrete T section, with the web normal to panel plane and the flange ends being respectively tongued and grooved: the two lateral webs of the original design now having been replaced by the single web. Precast units containing the heads of beams forming a wall panel are pref. of inverted U in cross section and are built up of two interfitting relatively short units with non-coincident joints; and external facades are of grindable material by which means jointing inequalities are removed. Walls are formed by two rows of beams, with webs facing inwards and staggered.
