Abstract

The electric lead-acid accumulator has a negative plate (1), as shown in figure 1, made-up as a plastic grid (2) coated with metallic layers. The plastic material cna be an acrylonitrile, butadiene or styrene copolymer. A connector (10) is attached to the grid by moulding the plastic material into anchor holes (4). The connector (10) may have a soldered strip for ease of connection into a circuit. The connector (10) and the grid (1) are coated with a layer (5) silver with a thickness between 10 and 20 microns approximately or a layer of tin with a thickness between 10 and 30 microns approximately, preferably onto a first layer of copper. The layer of silver or tin is itself covered by a laver (6) of lead of thickness between 20 and 30 microns. The negative plate thus obtained is relatively light.
