Abstract

An adjustable heat exchanger consists of a hollow shell in one or several parts, optionally connected, inside of which circulates a cooling fluid, the internal surface taking the form wholly or partly of the mould to be cooled. The appts. is particularly useful in glass making and metallurgy for cooling moulds of all shapes, and when the moulds have parts of a very different vol. and thickness. It enables moulds which are in continual use to be cooled more efficiently than existing means, and control of the heat transfer is much better.
