Abstract

A domestic ventilation system with extraction ducts located in the kitchen, bathroom, toilet etc, terminating in a single chimney, uses a collector boc (1) between these ducts and the chimney with a two speed fan housed inside the top of the box, immediately preceding the chimney. When it is required to increase the ventilation from the kitchen, the fan is operated at the higher speed, and solenoid device (12) is actuated to slide an arm which carries a collar (15) which acts as a stop, and a lever (18) is pulled against the force of a spring (20) so as to tilt from a vertical position to a horizontal position, a flap (10) which normally partially closes the inlet (8) from the kitchen.
