Abstract

The pipe is made from rubber, plastic or similar material (2) and is reinforced by a continuous helix of round metal wire (1). The wall thickness of the pipe is increased locally around the reinforcing wire and reduced between successive coils of the helix. This results in the internal wall being provided with longitudinal undulations (3). As a result, a spiral motion is induced in the flowing powder which minimises the possibility of pipe blockage due to clogging of the powder. The pipe is particularly useful for supplying powdered material to electro-static spray guns.
