Abstract

The rotating hydroelectric generator or pump has an inner stator (17) enclosed by an inner rotor (15), and an outer rotor (7) enclosing the inner rotor and itself enclosed by an outer stator (3). All the rotors and stators are co-axial and enclosed in the same cylindrical housing (1). The outer stator is laminated and has slots for winding whilst the inner stator is hollow and has the fluid passing axially through it into the pump region formed by the inner rotor. The outer stator and rotor form the generator part and the inner stator and rotor form the pump part.
