Abstract

One of the ends of the reinforcement being pulled is fixed onto a mobile trimmer box. The hydraulic device consists of two double-acting jacks, one of which is directly connected to the fluid source, and the other is connected to it by means of an intermediate constant volume cylinder and piston. The hydraulic device exerts on the trimmer a translation movement perpendicular to its lengthwise direction, as a result of the automatic and permanent balancing of two forces applied to it. The jacks and the cylinder-piston device are connected to the fluid source by a distributor with slide-valve. A screw and nut arrangement for each jack keeps the reinforcement taut, after the force exerted on the trimmer has been released.
