Abstract

A light engine driven vehicle designed for maximum manoeuvrability has its front wheel (2) driven by an engine mounted alongside the wheel, the whole front wheel assembly being connected by a double linkage (12) to the housing (9) containing the steering gear, so that it can be turned through at lease 180 deg. about a vertical axis, giving a very tight turning circle. A known variable speed unit can be located between the engine and the side of the wheel. An inverted L shaped member each side of the wheel carries the two cross bars (4, 7) acting as pivots for the longitudinal bars (12) forming the suspension.
