Abstract
A combined station for receiving and sending pneumatic tube canisters has access for loading prevented when a canister is being sent, but not when one is received. An airtight box (1) has an outlet door (3) through which arriving canisters drop without hindrance. When despatching, another door (6) is opened, the cannister (17) fitted in the tube (11) and the door closed. A piston (22) rises when pressure drops in the box. Through a linkage (18, 20), the canister is pivoted (21) to line up with the tube (2) and it is despatched. When the canister clears the line the tube returns to the vertical position for reloading.
