Abstract

The housing is a thin metal cylinder whose end walls have central holes. The cylindrical surface is corrugated to provide a grip in one of the members to be assembled. A piston fits inside the housing with its rod projecting through one end and is normally held in this position by a compression spring. The end of the rod is round and may have a section of reduced diameter so the end acts as a catch in a hole in the second member of the assembly.
