Abstract

Blanched paper paste is protected against mould and yellowing by treating it with a soln. contg. 0.1-0.4% H2O2, 0.02-0.04% pentasodium diethylene triamine pentacetate and 0.005-0.01% MgSO4 (w.r.t. dry paste). Specif. the appearance of mould occurs about 5-6 days after the end of the natural decompsn. of the H2O2. The sodium diethylene triamine pentacetate stabilises the H2O2 against spontaneous decompsn.
