Abstract

Corrugated cardboard comprising pref. an intermediate undulating cardboard sheet sandwiched between two plane cardboard facing sheets has a layer (e.g. 1-2mm thick) of expanded plastic (e.g. polystyrene) secured (e.g. by adhesive) to >=1 facing sheet. When the cardboard is formed into a packaging container the expanded plastic layer is pref. on the inside. The expanded plastic layer may be secured to the facing sheet before or after the facing sheet has been secured to the inter. sheet. A layer of expanded plastic may be secured to both facing sheets. A container can be easily formed from cardboard and can be used for transporting frozen or heated goods.
