Abstract

Sheet material which can be creased and folded to make or close packages, is a composite of paper or card, etc. and >=1 layer of flexible expanded resin sheet which becomes the inner lining of the pack or its cover. Pref. two lowers of expanded resin of differing thickness are used where one is initially bonded to the support and punch cut to the same pattern or outline for making the package. Pref. the ancillary layer of foam forms a hermetic seal to selected panels of the pack. Expanded layers are pref. of polystyrene. Esp. suitable for packs for ice creams or similar prods. requiring insulating.
