Abstract

A composite moulded yarn bobbin includes end flanges having on one face a formation eg. a circular recess with radial ribs into which an end of a bobbon stem of a first diam can locate e.g. such that notches in the end of the stem locate on the ribs, and having on the other face a formation e.g. an annular channel with radial ribs into which a bobbin stem of a second dia can locate e.g. such that notches in the end of the bobbin stem locate on the ribs. The flanges are secured to the stems by tying bolts extending through the stem. A composite bobbin, having several stem portions on which different quantities or types of yarn can be wound, is built up, reducing packages and transport costs.
