Abstract

1294936 Valves HATTERSLEY NEWMAN HENDER Ltd 19 April 1971 [14 March 1970] 12384/70 Heading F2V A diaphragm valve has the diaphragm 14 connected through a compressor 17 to an operating stem 16. The compressor is recessed to receive an annular boss 18 on the diaphragm which contains a frusto-conical connector 19 anchored in the boss by a radial flange 22 on one end. The other end of the connector is fixed to the compressor. Preferably, the diaphragm is moulded with the connector forming an insert. A reinforcement layer 23, e.g. of woven textile material, is located by a central hole closely on the connector so as to lie on the flange 22.
