Abstract

In isotope batteries with a radiation source for charged pri. particles, which produce sec. electrons, yielding the useful current, a multiplication factor >=10 is produced by selection of the sec. emission medium and mutual arrangement of this and the radiation source and collector electrode for sec. electrons. There is a considerable increase in the current yield at given energy and density of the particle radiation at lower voltage.
