Abstract

Synthetic filament yarn is drawn between a feed roll assembly and a draw roll assembly comprising a draw roll and a separator roll around which the yarn is wrapped several times and the drawn yarn is pref. taken up by a ring and traveller take-up device. The last wrap of the yarn passing around the draw roll assembly is deviated pref. around a polished guide pulley to take an extended path and a feeler of yarn break detector contacts the yarn in the extended path to detect yarn breakages. The positioning of the feeler ensures the drawing device can be rapidly shut down.
