Abstract

A winding head for yarns and threads with sufficient capacity for up to eight hrs continuous running has a housing supported freely on a main driving shaft turning feed rollers, traverse guides and spools for carrier threads, and rotating concentrically around the housing a curved tubular yarn guide permitting the winding of yarn to be processed onto the carrier threads in a completely tensionless condition. Thereafter the process can be reversed and the yarn unwound from the carrier threads to be suitable packaged.
