Abstract
Designed to carry current to oil bore-shaft electric pump motors the copper conductors are individually clad with a high dielectric strength, high molecular, heat stabilised polypropylene; the cables are further clad with a layer of impermeable epichlorhydrine rubber; the outer armour is a spiral winding of galvanised steel with a low carbon content or bronze. The purpose is to provide a structured cable for a three-phase 200 hp motor at depths of 1200 - 3000 m. at temperatures of 120 degrees C, which can also resist the corrosive effects of oil, and released gases/carbonates/salts/water.
