Abstract
A Cr and Co base prealloy is prepd. which contains the total Cr in the final alloy. It may also contain Ni, Fe, W and Mo. It is ground to a fine powder which is then mixed with other powders contg. the other constits. for the final alloy. It is then shaped and sintered at high temp. under vacuum. The prealloy contains by wt. 40-60 parts of the total (Co + Ni + Fe) for 60-40 parts of the total (Cr + W + Mo), the possible sum (Ni + Fe) not exceeding a quarter of the total (Co + Ni + Fe) and the possible sum (W + Mo) not exceeding a quarter of the total (Cr + W + Mo). The alloy so formed is at least 90% o-phase.
