Abstract

A revolving comb for textile machines comprises a cylinder built up from segments round a shaft having around its circumference, axial flutes, the circumference being milled additionally to leave the faces of the flutes on the leading side in the direction of rotation, projecting beyond the other faces and rebated slightly to form a seat and a shoulder against which a row of needles rests. The rows of needles are glued between two strips of thin steel plate reaching part way up the needle shank from the butt, the under plate being wider and thinner than the upper which fits against the shoulder of the tapering rebate milled in the clamping plates, the needle strips being thus securely held.
