Abstract

Liquid esp. water is cooled to 4 degrees C., compressed to 10-12 bars, by two electromagnetic pumps in tandem, and injected into a gas, esp. CO2, which is initially at 6 bars pressure, in a tank adjacent to, and pref. enclosed in, liquid cooling tank. Liquid temp. is under thermostatic control, and pumps are under control of pressure in gasification tank, from the bottom of which satd. liquid is drawn. The appts. forms a portable compact unit, and no expensive high pressure pump with graphite components is used. A special non-splash liquid outlet tap with conical valve seating is employed.
