Abstract

Instant prepn. of beer, for use in automatic drink dispensers, uses water gasified with CO2, the quantity of water being >=50% of the final product, and to which is added a beer extract, in such an amount that the final product has the normal compsn. for the beer required. The extract, (pref. contg. 0-2% alcohol), is a dense extract of beer as used in making non-alcoholic beer, pref. with an apparent density of 12-15 degrees Balling, pH 4.2-4.5, and 0.5-2.0% alcohol, or the extract may be a dry extract such as obtd. by lyophilisation. The CO2 and beer extract may be added to the water at the same time.
