Abstract

Four high black sheet rolling mill comprising support roll with elongated trunnions, which are linked to a cross beam attached to the mill housing for bending compensation, and which is also equipped with a bending pressure roll, is designed that the bending cross beam is not height adjustable but the height of the bearing supports of the bending pressure rolls is height adjustable in relation to the cross beam to which they are attached. The system avoids the transmission of distorting stresses to the mill housing, it also permits the design of a lower housing and the provision of the roll deflection compensation device to both top and the bottom rolls.
