Abstract

1,202,167. Roller mills. VALMET OY. 21 June, 1968 [22 June, 1967], No. 29607/68. Heading B2A. [Also in Divisions D1 and D2] A device for scraping a rotating roll, grinding and crushing machines, comprises a blade 2, secured to a hollow support 1, an inner beam 3 located inside the support, a plurality of means operable by fluid pressure being arranged to exert forces between the inner beam 3 and the support to deflect the support, so regulating the pressurve exerted by the blade over its length. The fluid pressure means may be expansible tubes 11 pressurised by cylinder-andpiston units 7. Telescopic cylinders or bellows may be substituted for the tubes 11. The expansible tubes 11 may extend longitudinally of and parallel with the support, and may be accommodated in channels bounded by the surfaces of the inner beam 3, flanges 10 secured to these surfaces, and strips 9 on the inner surfaces of the support 1. The support 1 and the inner beam 3 may be box-type beams, and the support 1 may be mounted so that the cylinder-and-piston arrangement 7 acts on the support to provide the pressure between the blade and the roll. .
