The inner surface of a polymer veneer or band (pref. made from an unsatd. polyester cured with a peroxide) to be glued to a wooden substrate with a molten glue, is treated with a soln. of a film-forming polymer and a polyisocyanate in an org. solvent. The strength of the joint at low temps. is increased.
