Abstract

The interior of the autoclave includes a horizontal roller table, without motors, but means are provided outside the autoclave for extracting the objects at the end of the operating cycle. These means comprise a movable trolley carrying a retractable blade which is erected to push or pull the boxes contg. the objects to be sterilized. The boxes must be metallic to withstand the temp. and the press. prevailing in the autoclave. Conveyor belts bring the boxes to the neighbourhood of the autoclave door and the trolley, with its blade erected, pushes the last box and the previous boxes through the door, the trolley then returns to its original position. At the end of the sterilisation process the outlet door opens and a second trolley advances to the autoclave, when its arms reaches the end of its course its blade is raised and pulls on the back of the last box as the trolley moves back and pulls the assembly of boxes clear of the autoclave. The operations can be effected without any risk of the boxes sliding on the metallic rollers inside the autoclave.
