Abstract

1396479 Cabinets SPERRY RAND CORP 19 March 1973 [19 April 1972] 13127/73 Heading A4B A filing cabinet with a plurality of drawers 41 includes a device for moving any selected drawer out of the cabinet through an access opening 61, the device comprising a fixed support 9, a member 11 adapted for connection to the rear of a drawer 41 and a pair of levers A, B pivotally interconnected, as at M, intermediate their ends, the levers A, B, having a respective one end pivoted at 3, 5 to the connecting member 11 and support 9 and a respective opposite end 1, 7 with a slide block 2, 8 pivotally slidable in a guide 13, 15, the block 2 in the fixed support guide 13 being displaceable by an electric motor 23 acting through a gear train 25, a crank lever 27 and a drive lever 29. The motor is stopped by automatic operation of a switch 35 in the end positions 37, 39. The connection means includes electromagnets 43 for engaging the rear wall 45 of the drawer. Each drawer 41 may be mounted in telescopic guides 47 on an orbiting carrier 51.
