996,294. Cabinets. H. PAPE. Oct. 6, 1961 [Oct. 6, 1960], No. 36109/61. Heading A4B. [Also in Division B6] In a filing cabinet in which drawers 10 are carried in cages 8 movable along guide bars 12, a selected drawer is moved in and out of an aperture 4 by means of arms 14 and 15. Arms 14 and 15 are moved in a fixed arc by crank 20, connecting link 19 and arm 18 fast with drive shaft 13. The drawers 10 are driven by projections 16 engaging plates 17 of the appropriately positioned drawer. The arms are brought to rest gradually at either end of their stroke as the crank 20 passes over dead centre. A drawer selector mechanism is controlled electrically in a known manner, e.g. by means of push-button 7.
