[Class 35] A solenoid with a reciprocating plunger h to operate a switch or contactor is constructed to facilitate easy lateral removal as a whole of the plunger and its tubular guide b on which the coil g is mounted from between the spaced ends of the opposed parts a of the fixed core structure. The guide and hence the coil are held in place by straps e detachably bolted to the core structure.
