Abstract

1,143,435. Drawer guides. ART METAL Inc. 3 June, 1966 [6 Dec., 1965], No. 24834/66. Heading A4B. A drawer 12 is supported in a cabinet 10 by two pairs of plates 24 hinged together by a pin 27, to the rear wall 16 of the drawer 12 at 25, and to the cabinet rear wall at 26. The pins 27 engage slots 42 in a rod 40 to limit opening of the pairs of plates 24 and hence limit the withdrawal of the drawer 12. Yawing of the drawer during withdrawal is prevented by engagement of a pair of racks 34 on the drawer bottom 14 with a pair of spur gears (32) keyed to a shaft 30 carried by end bearings 36 on the cabinet bottom 14. Slots 17 in the bottom and rear walls of the drawer may receive lugs (18) on partitions (20).
