Abstract

Nitrohumic acid (I), prepd. by the action of nitric acid on nutritive humus and opt. converted to the Ca salt, may be fed to cattle and pigs at the rate of 0.3-1% in food, and increases the rate of growth of the animals. (I) is effective in increasing the intestinal bacteria which decompose lactose, whilst at the same time inhibiting the growth of harmful intestinal bacteria.
