Abstract
A blood-containing feed product for pigs, cattle or fowl consists of blood inoculated with fish pulp fermented by lactic acid bacteria. Thus fresh blood may be inoculated with 1% to 10% by weight of fish pulp fermented by lactic acid bacteria Plantarum; the blood may be mixed, either before or after fermentation, with a carbohydrate additive such as rye grits, bran or lucerne. According to an example 75 g. fish pulp of pH 4.12 was added to a mixture comprising 1500 g. blood, 270 g. molasses and 70 g. rye grits; the pH values of the resultant feed product were 3.70 and 3.60 after 6 and 10 days, respectively.
