Abstract

Paper making machine provided with a differential number of suction boxes disposed along a meandering path on opposite sides of the vertical throat defined by two wire mesh screens so as to dehydrate the wet paper web to 25 - 40% of moisture content in which machine the suction boxes are formed by stationary elements having arcuate surfaces in contact with the wire mesh screens, stationary strippers, rotary suction cylinders and grooved cylinders, the stationary elements being arranged for alternate connection to suction and compressed air sources.
