Abstract

In a rolling mill installation comprising one or n blooming mill streets, which feed m finish roll streets (m>n), storage devices are interposed between the two, after a shunting point the storage devices maintaining the material at rolling temp. and acting as buffer stocks for material to be rolled in the various finishing streets. The workpiece material is stored in the devices in coiled form. Provision of the buffer stock points ensures continuous loading of the various finish roll streets.
